Ponds will be constructed in the district through Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) scheme, which will be useful for fish farming along with water conservation.
Collector Mukesh Bansal, while reviewing the progress of schemes of Panchayat and Rural Development Department, instructed the officers concerned to ensure strict adherence to the order issued by the State Government in this regard.
The Collector asked officials to co-ordinate with the Fisheries Department before sanction of ponds under MNREGA and to collect standard design and estimate of ponds being constructed by the Department.
The Collector asked the officers to complete the construction works under BRGF scheme soon and to ensure utilisation of the Rs2 crore available in BRGF head for construction of buildings for anganwadis.
The anganwadi buildings were being constructed in the district under MNREGA and BRGF convergence. In view of lack of allotment under MNREGA, the amount available with BRGF would be useful in the construction of anganwadi buildings. For that, he instructed the Woman and Child Development Department to collect Janpad-wise and priority-wise list of anganwadis which do not have their own building.
The Collector told the officers to collect report on the present status of the 150 phulwari centres sanctioned in the district from Janpad Panchayats immediately and to release funds to them as per need.
He said that anganwadis and phulwari centres should be opened regularly and its benefits should reach the women and children. The Collector has issued instructions to conduct audit of the amount released to different departments and agencies for construction works under BRGF.
Under the Rural Area Development Authority, sanction for 75 construction works has been received this year, of which, administrative sanction has been issued to different agencies for construction of 66 works. The Collector expressed annoyance over the delay in the issuance of administrative sanction for the remaining works.
