Playing a video of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday demanded the waiving of the limit of 15 quintals per acre for paddy procurement as promised.
Chhattisgarh BJP President Vishnudeo Sai said Congress leaders should recall their election promises before challenging the state BJP and the Modi government.
The video had Gandhi announcing steps that will be taken if the Congress comes to power.
A bonus on paddy was promised every year and it was also promised to pay the two-year pending bonus of paddy to farmers, Sai said. The Congress had also pledged to provide employment to children of farmers. All these should be fulfilled, he added.
