Collector Tamansingh Sonwani and Superintendent of Police Amit Kamble paid a surprise visit to the under construction school and Ashram buildings at Kurushnar of Abujhmad, a Naxal-dominated area.
Displeased with the slow progress of construction of both the buildings, the officer duo instructed the agency concerned to speed up the work. They asked the officers concerned to ensure sufficient quantity of construction material and availability of labour for the work and to monitor progress of the work daily.
The Collector instructed the officers to ensure completion of construction work by June 10 under any circumstances. Sonwani and Kamble also checked the facilities at Kurushnar police station and encouraged the staff.
Discussing with the villagers on their problems, Sonwani and Kamble instructed the police station in-charge not to ask passengers to get down 100 meters away from Police Station Naka.
The villagers complained that the police constables ask the passengers of Narayanpur-Sonpur bus to get down 100 meters before the stop and they have to walk this distance to board the bus as the cops send the empty bus ahead.
This act of the police has created a lot of problems to the people, especially elders and women with kids, in reaching their destination.
looking at the inconvenience of villagers, the police station In-charge has been instructed to cooperate with people with sensitivity.
