Home Minister Ramsevak Paikra on Saturday said that he always had condemned the incidents like rape and atrocities on women. Such incidents are a blot on the decent society. The Chhattisgarh Government, at any cost, would not tolerate such heinous incidents and stringent legal action would be taken against the guilty persons, he added.
In an official press statement issued here on Saturday, Paikra said that the State Government had issued instructions to the police to take action against the culprits of such kinds of serious and despicable crimes.He expressed surprise and sorrow over the publication of his statement in this regard, distorted by some news channels and newspapers. He said, he never had given such statement that “incidents like rape happened by mistake and not intentionally.”
Paikra said that he had said that some criminal minded people through deception make innocent girls and women victims of their atrocities. This statement of his was published in a wrong manner, he added.Paikra said that stringent action under the Indian Penal Code should be taken against the rapists and criminals of women atrocities.
