The Chhattisgarh Agriculture Department on Thursday sealed a shop on charges of selling fertilizer at a higher price in Janjgir-Champa district.
This followed a checking of fertilizer shops in the district.
An official communique said the shop, Madanlal Agrawal Khad Bhandar, was sealed.
Earlier too action had been taken against fertilizer shops where irregularities were found. Action was taken against a seller, Gyanichand Chandagiram, for not issuing cash/credit memos to the farmers. The Agriculture Department took 2,177 samples of fertilizers to test their quality. Of these, 83 were found below standard.
