Chhattisgarh Police on Saturday arrested a 34-year-old man for killing his two-and-a-half-year-old son, suspecting he was not his biological child.
The crime took place in Bemetara district last month, Bemetara Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh said, identifying the arrested man as Dom Singh alias Paklu of Baherghat village.
The police learnt that Dom Singh had beaten and strangled his son, Shobhnath, on June 26.
He told the family that the boy died due to a disease and cremated him. He confessed the truth after the police detained him.
A court sent him to jail.
