Farmers should adopt crop rotation and advanced farming techniques, State Home, Jail and Public Health Engineering Minister Ramsevak Paikra said on Sunday.
He was addressing a gathering after performing bhoomi pujan and public dedication of different works at Sendar village of Figeshvar block in the district.
“In present times, farmers can prosper by growing cash crops. It is a matter of satisfaction that farmers here are working hard for growing Rabi crops. However, they (farmers) should not be depend on paddy crop only but should adopt crops like sugarcane and chilly,” the Minister said.
Paikra appealed villagers to get constructed toilets in their homes. Wherever filth exists it brings disease, so keep your village clean as this will help in development of the village, he said.
The Minister also took the opportunity to inform villagers about various development works being undertaken by the State government. He asked the youth in the village to upgrade their skills through different skill development schemes and start their own business.
