Collector Ritu Sen has directed officials that farmers should be imparted training and given necessary equipment to keep them engaged in agricultural activities throughout the year.
She was addressing at a meeting of the officers of Agriculture, livestock Development, Horticulture, Fisheries and other departments here.
The Collector said that farmers should be imparted training on seed production, cultivation of papaya, banana and other fruits, vegetables and mushroom, poultry farm, cattle farming for production of milk, vermin-compost, bio-gas plant, fisheries etc.
She directed the tehsildars that if pass book is in the name of husband the name of wife should be added in the account to make her co-account holder so that loans could be sanctioned for various production activities.
Sen said that bank officials should not reject any proposal for loan without solid ground. The representatives of the Department concerned were present on the occasion.
Sen took detailed information on poultry farming from the officials who were on tour of Raisen District of MP.
Sen directed the officials to implement poultry farming in 399 Gram Panchayats of the district. She said the villagers in Ambikapur and nearby areas should be trained in poultry farming.
