A group of farmers affected by the Rowghat Railway Project protested at the under-construction railway crossing at Bhanupratappur on Wednesday. The protest was followed by a 15 minute blockade.
The protest concluded after the assurance of the Railway administration to find a solution to the problem faced by the affected farmers.
A farmer said despite making promises, no employment opportunities have been provided for the past six years.
The affected farmers of Balod district have received jobs but we are ignored in the name of the newly framed guidelines, said another farmer.
The announcement of this protest was made on Tuesday.
