Farmers of Mangarelgarh in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday hailed the decision of the Baghel government to waive off their debts and   introducing Nyay schemes which ensure fair price of Rs 2,500 per quintal for paddy crop.

They expressed their happiness on the welfare schemes while meeting Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel as part of the ‘Bhent-Mulaqat’ campaign.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister asked the farmers if any of them had not received the benefit of loan waiver.

Even before he could complete his question, the farmers enthusiastically started yelling the amount of loans which have been waived off.

Responding, the Chief Minister said his happiness lies in the prosperity of the farmer. He congratulated them on their response and clapped for them.

One farmer, Ramkumar Gupta of Patela village, told him that his loan of Rs 2 lakh was waived off, bringing great relief to him and his family.

He said that after the loan waiver, he could buy a tractor which helped him to do farming more efficiently and conveniently.

This time he has sold 500 sacks of paddy and earned a good profit, he said, adding that now he was spending more on his children's      education.
