In a bid to fulfil the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the income of farmers would be doubled by 2022, under aegis of Agriculture Department, a workshop on agriculture and food processing unit was held here at auction hall on Thursday.
Addressing the workshop, District Collector Shruti Singh appealed to the farmers of the region to set up agriculture and food processing units.
As Chhattisgarh is an Agrarian State, the Government has formulated policies accordingly, she said.
“You may get more benefit if you process your farm produce yourself”, she told farmers.
The Collector further said that the State Government is committed to promoting agriculture based industries in the district and the farmers should take benefit of it.
The farmers present in the workshop were also informed about the various schemes of the State Government regarding establishment of the agriculture based industries.
If it materialises, it will boost famers’ income.
