For the first time in Chhattisgarh, the family members of jawans and police personnel who laid down their lives on Naxal front were remembered and honored on state foundation day.
“The family members of the ‘Shaheed’ were honored on behalf of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on the occasion of the state foundation day,” Sundarraj P DIG (Naxal Ops) informed.
He said that around 900 families have received felicitation on Chief Minister’s behalf.
Notably, Chhattisgarh has been one of the worst Maoist violence hit states of India. According to a report recently released by Union Home Ministry in 2018 Chhattisgarh witnessed 392 Naxal-related violent incidents resulting in 153 casualties.
