The cooperative societies in the district have started farmer’s registration for purchasing paddy on support price. The registration process will end on October 15, officers said on Saturday.
Meanwhile, district Collector Shruti Singh has appealed the farmers to get them registered within the prescribed time limit to avoid unnecessary hassles. District administration officers informed that in accordance with the directive issued by state Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection department the registrations are being performed.
For selling paddy on support price, it is necessary for a farmer to get registered with the cooperative society of their area. The applications for the same are available with the cooperative societies. Those farmers who had already got themselves registered last year and want to inform about change in acreage or similar others, then the prescribed form in this regard will be also available with societies, officials informed.
However, new farmers will have to submit the form and other relevant documents with the office of Tehsildar. Tehsildar after checking the documents will register the farmer, officers stated.
