Inspector General of police, Raipur Range GP Singh made the announcement on Monday. The IGP in the announcement said that about 6 to 7 unidentified persons had committed loot of valuables worth Rs 14 lakh from a house falling under the limits of Gunj police station. A case in this connection has been registered with Gunj police station under Section 395 and 397 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police is taking every possible action to nab the offenders but they could not be arrested so far.

“Under these circumstances”, IGP said, “I declare cash reward of Rs30,000 for persons who would provide valuable information in connection with loot incident that could help the police in arresting the offenders.”  It may be mentioned that on April 19, about 6 to 7 masked and armed goons had stormed in house of a Stationary items businessman Bhawandas Ramchandani (52) located in one of the densely populated area of city, Fafadih. They had made away with cash, gold and valuables more than Rs14 lakhs after beating him up his son.

later on, police parties were sent to Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Jharkhand for investigating the case as, according to police, the loot could have been the handy-work of some professional gangs.
