Chhattisgarh's Chief Electoral Officer on Thursday banned exit polls in any manner till polling gets over in the Khairagarh assembly seat on April 12.
Violation would amount to a breach of the Representation of the People Act.
The ban is on publication and dissemination through electronic or other media between the start and end of polling on April 12.
No person shall conduct any exit poll during the time period fixed by the Commission.
Meanwhile, a general holiday has been declared within the limits of Khairagarh assembly constituency on the day of polling.
