Excise commissioner Dr Kamalpreet Singh held a review meeting with Bastar and Surguja revenue department officials ahead of Lok Sabha elections and directed them to keep the district level control room functioning continuously.
He also directed the officials to take action within 24 hours of receiving complaints on toll free number 14405 on illegal liquor sale or over pricing. The discussion was also held on current fiscal year work plan and revenue collection.
The commissioner asked all the district officials of both divisions to continue extensive surprise raids on illegal sale. Before raids the specific point should be identified so that action is ensured, he told officials.
As complaints of over pricing are being received, the officials should conduct monitoring of shops on regular basis, he said, adding officials should ensure all the country made and foreign made liquor shops exhibit the liquor rates.
