The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Friday seized equipment of Reliance Jio Infocomm limited for allegedly damaging a part of road and paver blocks while laying cable line in the city.
A RMC press release informed that at the time of laying cable line, Reliance Jio Infocomm limited damaged part of road and paver blocks near National Institute of Technology (NIT) and Choubey Colony in Ward number-15 following which flying squad of the corporation has taken action against the company.
After being informed about the damage to public property, RMC’s squad swung into action and immediately prevented the ongoing works by seizing the company’s equipment, it stated.
On the directives of RMC Commissioner Saransh Mittar, the equipment were seized in the presence of company’s workers, informed RMC Zone-7 Commissioner Preetam Mishra.
Reliance Jio Infocomm limited has been directed to undertake requisite repairing works, said Mishra, adding that in case the company refuses to carry out repairing work, then RMC is going to take action for recovery of loss incurred due to damage to public property.
