Chief Minister Raman Singh appealed to partymen here on Thursday to ensure a landslide victory for his son Abhishek Singh in Rajnandgaon lok Sabha constituency which goes to the polls on April 17.
Addressing a constituency-level workers’ meet, Singh said he is confident of winning all the 11 lok Sabha seats in the State with the cadres putting in their best efforts.
Singh said, “I have seen your hard work in the Assembly polls and I am pretty confident that party candidate Abhishek Singh will win from this constituency easily.”
He advised the cadre to start work at the booth, ward and village levels so as to establish better contact with all the electorates.
Singh said that the BJP was an organisation of spirited and dedicated workers and that was why the party had won for the third consecutive term in the State last year.
Rajnandgaon lok Sabha Member Madhusudan Yadav who is a die-hard supporter of Raman Singh, said the party would win the seat with the highest margin this time and would set an example in the State.
Yadav said the country had been facing a Modi wave, while in the State there was a Raman wave and in Rajnandgaon, an Abhishek Singh wave was sweeping.
Seeking the blessings of party workers and elderly people at the meeting, Abhishek Singh said he would remain a humble leader with the love and affection shown to him by the people.
“I am fully confident that we will easily win this seat with a huge margin,” he said.
State organising secretary of the party Ram Pratap Singh said the Assembly-level workers’ meetings of the party in the constituency will commence on March 22.
Abhishek Singh is expected to file his nomination papers on March 24.
Several other office-bearers and leaders of the party also attended the workers’ meet.
