Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Minister Punnulal Mohle on Monday chaired a meeting to review the departmental works and directed officials concerned to ensure full lifting of procured foodgrain within the stipulated time.
Notably, the State government has procured 60 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers on support price this year, officials stated.
Reviewing the works being performed under Public Distribution System (PDS), the Minister directed officials to start PDS outlets in newly constituted village panchayats across the State. Similarly, he asked officials to open PDS outlet cum godowns in urban as well as rural areas.
Besides, he also ordered officials to accelerate works related to construction of godowns. On the occasion, Mohle also sought detailed information about computerization of ration shops and seeding of ration card with Aadhaar number and bank passbook.
Mohle also ordered officials to keep close watch on price of essential commodities and collected details about appointment in vacant posts of State and District Consumer Forum.
