Ensure full implementation of Model Code: Dhawade

Published on:

After enforcement of Model Code of Conduct (MCC), District Collector Shyam Dhawade took a meeting of all the officials engaged in electoral work the other day here.

The elections in Gariaband District would be held in the second phase on November 20 in the two-phased polls to be held in the state, he informed.

In the meeting, Dhawade directed the officials to be unbiased and there should

be no violation of Model Code of Conduct.

He instructed the concerned officials for taking necessary action and remove unauthorised political campaign materials, banners, posters, flags and photographs from public places and take action against wall writing on the Government buildings.

The Collector also instructed for continuous monitoring and told the officials to be stern in the cases of property defacement. He also instructed the officials to remove the calendars from the government offices in which there are photographs of political leaders and public representatives.

Without prior permission of district authority, political parties or candidates in the election cannot convene a public meeting, he informed. Permission must be sought for the use of loud speakers, he said. He informed that the leave of employees and officials for more than seven days would now be sanctioned by the Election Commission as it would now come under its purview.
