Chhattisgarh Food Minister Amarjeet Bhagat on Wednesday told food officers to ensure storage of food grains at fair price shops to provide free ration for July-November.
He was addressing a divisional level review meeting related to custom milling and the Public Distribution System (PDS) at Ambikapur town in Surguja district, an official release said. Bhagat said that complaints are being received from many places that ration shop owners are facing losses due to less quantity of food grains filled in gunny bags.
Action will be taken against Food Officers for supplying less quantity to the fair price shops operating under the PDS, he warned.
Taking serious note of complaints of negligence in distribution of food grains, Bhagat ordered cancellation of allotment of such fair price shops and directed the officers to make fresh allotment.
