Ensure excellence both in the teaching and learning processes to students of Government English Medium Schools across Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Wednesday.
Emphasis should also be given on developing all infrastructure to impart high quality education, he said at a review meeting of the opening of English Medium Schools in the state.
The meeting took place at his residence-cum-office here with School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam and senior government officials, an official release said.
Seeing the encouraging response from parents, the benchmark of the Government English Medium School is to provide better quality education than the private schools, the Chief Minister said.
He said the initial plan was to begin a school in each district headquarters. But with demand rising, the number has increased to 51.
“Go for parallel planning of 146 English Medium Schools in each block of the state from next academic session. The training of teachers should also be ensured,” said Baghel.
School Education Department Principal Secretary Dr Alok Shukla said that Durg district has plans for 10 schools, Balrampur 4, Raipur, Korba and Bilaspur 3 each, Janjgir-Champa, Bemetara, Korea, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi and Surguja 2 each and the other districts one school each.
The principals have been appointed and teachers’ appointment is in progress. A total of 27,741 students have been admitted and online classes have begun.
