Collector Reena Babasaheb Kangale while inspecting the under-construction toilets in Bagbuda village under Korba development block, directed the Janpad Panchayat CEO to ensure completion of the work before August 10.
She also asked him to pay special attention to the quality of construction work. To make Bagbuda village Open Defecation Free (ODF), it was necessary to construct toilets in every individual house, schools, Aanganbadi centres and other institutions, she said and added that it was also important to ensure that people change their habit and start using toilets for the purpose.
She said people should keep their toilets clean and proper cross ventilation should be there for inflow of fresh air. Cleanliness should be adopted as a habit, Kangale said . She asked the CEO to ensure that proper light and ventilation is provided in under construction toilets.
Apart from toilets, Kangale said, the surroundings should also be regularly cleaned and healthy atmosphere should be created. The villagers should be motivated and awareness should be created through wall writing and door-to-door campaign by the women self help groups.
The Collector also inspected primary school building and issued necessary instructions for maintenance and use of toilets there. She also sought information on distribution of Mid-day meal and school uniform.
