Collector Mukesh Bansal has directed officials to make sufficient arrangements for supply of drinking water during summer season in the district. During a meeting held here, the Collector said that during summer season, the water level in the reservoirs goes down and hence officials should be ready for tackling the problems.
The Collector also instructed Executive Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department not to permit long leave to sub-engineers and technicians of the Department so that any emergency during the season could be dealt with without any difficulty.
In the meeting, it was informed by the officials that as many as 137 hand pumps out of 17,070 hand pumps are out of order in the district. Meanwhile, Mayor Madhusudhan Yadav has asked the concerned officials to accelerate the cleanliness drive in Rajnandgaon city.
During a meeting convened here in the presence of Collector Mukesh Bansal and Municipal Chairperson Shiv Verma, Yadav asked officials to ensure conduct of door to door survey among the population for spotting the homes without lavatories and submit the report.
