Nodal officers deputed in Chhattisgarh for issuing postal ballots to security forces, police jawans and home guards were imparted training on Thursday to ensure cent percent polling among them.
The first of its kind one-day training was held at New Circuit House auditorium, Raipur.
Addressing the training, Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer Subrat Sahoo said, “It’s the responsibility of the nodal officer to ensure cent percent polling among the security forces, police jawans and home guards deployed on election duty. Their right to vote has to be protected.”
“The nodal officers will have to ensure availability of postal ballot papers to security force personnel deployed in remote and Naxal affected districts and collect the ballots after polling. Even Kotwars and forest guards should also be included,” Sahoo said.
Two police officers nominated by superintendent of police of each district, two officers each from armed forces, state home guard and all district postal ballot nodal officers participated in the training.
It was informed that in all the districts, postal ballot polling facilitation centres will be established for police personnel. The participants were also provided information on how to search name from electoral roll through NVSP portal.
