Chief Minister Raman Singh will inaugurate distribution of bonus on October 6 by transferring bonus electronically in the bank account of a farmer in the State, officials informed.

Following this, the Co-operative Committees will start transferring bonus electronically in the bank account of farmers across the State.

Chief Minister Raman Singh had recently announced that the farmers in the State will be given bonus of Rs  300 per quintal of agricultural produce for Kharif season 2016-17.

The announcement was made by the Chief Minister during a meeting of the BJP office- bearers in Raipur recently.

Singh said that he has received green signal from the Prime Minister for distribution of bonus to the farmers.

It may be recalled that the BJP during the last Assembly polls had announced to distribute Rs 300 per quintal bonus on agricultural produce to farmers.

A notification to this effect was issued by State Agriculture Department after the announcement was made by the Chief Minister.

Notably, the announcement comes just a year before the Assembly polls slated in Chhattisgarh next year.

On the other hand, notably, Chhattisgarh Government will be setting up a ‘Project Monitoring

Unit’ for successful implementation of Paddy Procurement, Storage and Disposal system in the State, officials informed.

Notably, Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs , Food and Public Distribution has stated that paddy procurement is already robust in Chhattisgarh and Odisha states.

The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has initiated special efforts for procurement in the Eastern States of India, where there were frequent complaints of distress sale of paddy and procurement system was ineffective, it stated.
