Taking note of the complaint registered by Chhattisgarh Congress alleging the Chief Minister was using his official residence for election meetings, the State Election Commission has sought reply from CM Secretariat in this connection.

Chief Electoral Officer Sunil Kujur told The Pioneer, “We have sought reply from the Chief Minister Secretariat over the complaint registered by Congress party.” Meanwhile, sources in the State Election Commission informed that a letter in this connection was dispatched on Friday. However, due to holidays starting from Saturday the reply in this connection would be received only after Dussehra festival, source maintained.

Notably on October 9 Congress party workers lead by President of City Congress Vikas Upadhyay, Congress MlA Kuldeep Juneja and others had registered a complaint with the Chief Election Officer alleging that Chief Minister was violating the model code of conduct by convening meeting of BJP party workers and administrative officer at his official residence.

Meanwhile, city Congress workers have claimed that they will submit proof of violation of MCC by Culture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and Industry Minster Rajesh Munat with the State Election Commission. They alleged that the BJP leaders are trying to lure voters by offering financial benefits.
