Chhattisgarh Police on Friday arrested an elderly man who impersonated as a senior police officer and cheated three men of Rs 16 lakhs after promising them jobs in the police and forest departments.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Urban) Abhishek Maheshwari told The Pioneer that Tiharu Ram Padmakar (70) of Balod district has been taken into custody. Arrested from Balod district, Padmakar told the police that he took Rs 10 lakhs from Kamlesh Chandra and Rs 3 lakhs each from Sagar Thakur and Vipin Singh in 2021. A court sent him to jail.
