Dhamtari Collector Rajat Bansal during surprise inspection of district hospital found eight doctors were not present on duty during duty hours at 9.00 am on Saturday.
He also counter checked the attendance register, and their signature was not found. He then directed officials to issue show-cause notice to the absentee doctors.
Among the doctors who were served with the notice include hospital superintendent specialist doctors. They have been asked to submit their reply at the earliest.
The collector, meanwhile, interacted with the patients and inquired about the treatment facilities, health condition and other related issues.
The district collector has been regularly monitoring the health services in the district and directing the officials to bring improvement in existing system. He had conducted the surprise inspection as part of the effort.
