Eight deaths of Covid positive patients was reported in Chhattisgarh as the number of active Covid patients crossed the 7,000 mark on Friday. Also, 768 fresh cases were detected from various districts and 266 patients were discharged from hospitals upon recovery, officials said.
With eight deaths reported on Friday, the total fatalities of Covid patients has climbed to 180 in Chhattisgarh.
A 64-year-old man from Korea district with diabetes, pneumonia, kidney disease and sepsis was admitted in AIIMS Raipur on August 14. He was Covid positive and died on Friday, the officials said. A 77-year-old man from Kota Raipur who had severe physical ailments like paralysis in right portion of the body, high blood pressure and kidney disease was admitted in AIIMS Raipur with breathlessness on August 14. He died on Friday.
A 63-year-old man from Jorapara Raipur was admitted in Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital Raipur on August 16 after being found Covid positive. He had fever and breathlessness and died on Friday morning, the officials said.
A 78-year-old man from Ambikapur who was detected Covid positive and had hypertension along with kidney disease was admitted in Ambedkar Hospital Raipur on August 10. He died on Friday.
A 55-year-old man from Khamtari Raipur was admitted in Ambedkar Hospital Raipur on August 20 with cough and breathlessness. He was detected Covid positive and died on Thursday.
A 49-year-old Covid positive woman from Katghora in Korba who was suffering from liver-kidney disease and had sepsis was admitted in Ambedkar Hospital on August 2. She died on Friday, the officials said.
A 51-year-old man from Raipur was admitted in VY Hospital Raipur with fever, breathlessness and cough on August 16. He was detected Covid positive and died on Thursday.
A 64-year-old man from Banstal Raipur was admitted in Suyash Hospital Raipur with cough and breathlessness on August 19.
He had lungs trouble and was Covid positive. He died on Thursday, the officials said.
So far 19,459 persons have been detected Covid positive in Chhattisgarh while 12,005 have been discharged on their recovery. Currently, there are 7,274 active Covid patients in the State.
