Preparations for Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh’s visit to Jagdalpur on October 3 are in final stages. According to an official communiqué, he will leave Mana Airport for Bastar at 11 am and will reach Jagdalpur at 11.40 am. He is scheduled to inaugurate the newly constructed building of Jagdalpur Medical College at 11.50 am.

After this, the Chief Minister will address a mammoth public meeting at lalbag Parade ground besides attending some public function. He will leave for Raipur at 2.10 pm and will be back in State Capital by 2.50 pm.

Notably, the Chief Minister’s visit to Jagdalpur  is also seen as a counter move to the recent Adiwasi Adhikar rally addressed by Congress national vice president Rahul Gandhi in which the Gandhi scion castigated the State Government for overlooking the interests of Tribal Section as also blew the poll bugle in Chhattisgarh.

On the occasion of Chief Minister’s visit, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are also trying to make the public meeting a grand show and have instructed party workers to gather twice the number of people attended Rahul Gandhi’s visit. State Minister of Public Health and Engineering Department and Tribal Welfare Department Kedar Kashyap has been assigned the charge of organising the meet and for the last two days party workers are taking the task on war footing.

The Chief Minister is likely to make the meeting also an occasion to blow the bugle of Assembly poll scheduled in November-December this year.
