ED scripted imaginary story on liquor scam: Congress

Published on:

The Chhattisgarh Congress on Monday charged the Enforcement Directorate with scripting an imaginary story of a liquor scam and said its allegations of sale of illicit liquor in the state with fake hologram were unbelievable.

In a statement, PCC chief spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said the ED alleged that there was sale of illicit liquor in government-run liquor outlets with fake hologram.

How much illicit liquor and take hologram the agency seized must be revealed, he said.

Without any proof, the agency was alleging Rs 2,000 crore of scam after interrogating some businessmen and officials, he said.

The Congress leader said there was an 'organized syndicate' between the ED and BJP because of which the former was hatching a conspiracy to defame a popular government in Chhattisgarh.

It was astonishing that the BJP leader and former Chief Minister Raman Singh had earlier revealed the findings of the raids well before the agency’s press release.
