Condemning Gorakhpur BJP MP Yogi Adityanath’s comment on Surya Namaskar, All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) president Kamal Sain and general secretary Ashok Mishra said the MP’s comment that “those who oppose Surya Namaskar should drown in sea” is not only aggressive and communal but also a remark which befits a fascist. This is not for the first time he is making such type of comment; however, no legal or administrative steps are taken against him, rued Sain.
“Adityanath said that Surya (the sun) is the source of all energies in the world. But the conception about energy is not proper. It is true that the sun is the major source of energy in the solar system; but there are other sources too. The gravitational fields of any bodies, electro-magnetic field of the planets, geo-thermal energy, chemical energy, nuclear energy, etc are not originated from the sun,” said the AIDSO chief. The AIDSO appealed the people in general and students in particular to protest against such fascist remark of Adityanath and to support the AIDSO’s movement demanding secular scientific democratic education in the country.
