Chhattisgarh Director General of Police D.M. Awasthi on Saturday advised students not to take drugs or other intoxicants as it ruins both career and life.
Addressing a webinar organized by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Raipur, he said that one should try to be efficient to achieve success, a press release said.
“Today the youth is living a stressful life. Due to stress, they start consuming drugs, which not only ruins their career but also life. Whenever there are stressful moments, one should share the problem with the family,” he said.
Awasthi said that one's ideals should be like that of Subhas Chandra Bose, who never gave up despite facing adverse conditions. For fighting against the British Raj, he even resigned from the Indian Civil Service.
Youths should have a passion like that of Netaji. They should remain away from drugs during stress. Drugs damage the nervous system, he said.
Parents should give time to their children. When children see their parents as friends, then only they will share their problems with them, he added.
