In a significant decision, the State government has reduced electricity duty for domestic consumers from 14, 15 and 23 per cent to a flat 8 per cent for all categories.
The move would considerably bring down power tariff charged from the consumers. The talks on reduction of electricity duty had been going on in official circles for quite sometime now. With the conclusion of the Monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh Assembly, the Government made the announcement late on Wednesday evening.
