Dr Gupta reached the police station with his advocate on fourth summon. He had ignored the earlier three notices to appear before the police.

The Police team that is investigating the multi-million scam that reportedly took place when Dr Gupta was superintendent of the DKS Super specialty hospital, questioned him for about three hours.

Later on, Dr Gutpa while talking to media personnel skirted most of the questions on the ground that the case is sub judice.

Dr Gupta who had overlooked earlier notices issued by the police claimed that he was cooperating in the investigation and that was why he came to the police station to get his statement recorded.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raipur Arif Sheikh talking to media persons said that Dr Gupta had not given satisfactory reply to the questions posed by investigating team.

“The team had asked about 50 questions, but Dr Gupta did not answer most of the questions. He told police that he would be able to reply only after seeing the documents,” the SSP said, while adding that soon the police might summon him for the second round of   questioning.

He further informed that Dr Gupta had approached the Supreme Court for getting anticipatory bail and Raipur police was ready to oppose the bail plea.

“We have sufficient evidences against Dr Gutpa and we will oppose the bail,” he said.
