The findings of a three-member committee probing the death of a tribal boy of Padmur village in Jagdalpur district who had arrived unconscious at Dr Ambedkar Hospital was submitted to Principal Secretary, Health, MK Raut.

Based on the findings, the Principal Secretary had directed immediate action based on the report. As a result, Hospital Superintendent Dr Vivek Choudhary has reportedly suspended neurosurgeon Dr Rajiv Sahu.A show cause notice was served on Dr Sahu to present himself for probe before the committee, it was learnt.

Raut stated that if there is a shortage of neurosurgeons at the Hospital, the same would be looked into.

Meanwhile Dr Choudhary talking with The Pioneer on Monday assured that there is no shortage of neurosurgeon in the hospital and if it occurs then we will manage it.

It may be recalled that the tribal boy Bodhram Betra (12) had fell down from a tree while plucking mangoes in his village and was referred to Dr Ambedkar hospital from the District Hospital in Jagdalpur with a wooden chip stuck below his right eye.

The boy reportedly could not get operated upon and was taken by his parents back in the village where he died after some days.

The Principal Secretary later called both the Hospital Superintendent Dr Vivek Choudhary and Dean Dr Ashok Sharma and reportedly directed them to get the matter probed.
