DPS bids adieu to visiting German teachers

Published on:

To ensconce learning by ‘Educational Exchange Technique,’ Delhi Public School (DPS), Raipur invited a German family to impart German lessons to students pursuing German as their 3rd language at the school.

The honorary teachers, Tanja and Tabea stayed for 6 months and coordinated with the school curriculum, a DPS press release informed.

Tanja’s younger daughter, Maila studied in class IX thus becoming the 1st ever overseas student of DPS Raipur. This set up gave both the nation’s students to interact and learn about each other. It enabled Maila to participate in a multitude of activities related to various subjects and values taught in school.

But just as good times end sooner than expected, the arrangement came to an end and the DPS fraternity bid adieu to thank them graciously in a farewell ceremony organized on  March 5, 2016. The students of class IX also arranged a farewell for  Maila, it stated.

As a mark of tribute, a video presentation of their contribution was acknowledged and appreciated. All the three guests shared their happy moments and thanked the teachers for making their stay comfortable and memorable. Maila embraced the thought of wearing a uniform and plaiting her hair as a disciplinary measure contrary to schools in Germany while Tabea, a university student at Germany, recounted the number of occasions she got to wear sarees, adorned her hands with henna and loved speaking in Hindi with the locals to get her work done.

Jushu, too, became nostalgic but felt privileged of being a part of this credulous association.

DPS Raipur Principal Raghunath Mukherjee also shared his thoughts for having associated with them as educationists and as family friends and thanked them for their learning and teaching zeal.

He felt proud that they acclimatized well and were departing with promises to come back. The guests were felicitated with garlands and mementos with Senior Member of the management committee, Vijay Shah congratulating them for completing their task successfully and wishing this amalgamation a long life.
