The 30th Foundation Day celebrations of Delhi Public School (DPS) Bhilai were held in the Risali Sector School Complex here.
The chief guest on the occasion was Satyender Kumar, General Manager, South East Central Railway (SECR), a DPS Press release issued here on Thursday stated.
DPS Bhilai Principal Prashant Vashishta in his address welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished guests.
The School Magazine “Dipsview” was then released by the Chief Guest. The Prize Dstribution Ceremony was held wherein meritorious students were awarded for their academic excellence.
This year, the concept of long Service Awards was introduced. Those employees who have completed 25 years of dedicated service to this institution were duly awarded.
The chief guest in his speech expressed his pleasure at being present on this grand occasion of the 30th Foundation Day celebrations.
He continued by congratulating the parents whose children had won prizes, however, he exhorted them to encourage the children, “to think out of the box”, as “exams were not the end of life, passion for learning was needed”.
The school was the foundation for learning core values and DPS Bhilai was doing wonderful job in all respects, Kumar said.
He concluded by extending his congratulations to everyone present, on this glorious day.
The Cultural Programme commenced with a Welcome Song. This was followed by a Dance Drama – “Oh Re Bande” dealt with the touching plight of prisoners. It urged the audience to follow the saying “Hate the Crime not the Criminal”.
This was conceived and directed by Mahendra Kumar Thakre and Sudipta Sarkar. The grand finale was the mythological dance “Mahishasur Mardini” that depicted the victory of good over evil. The dance was directed and choreographed by Sudipta Sarkar and lathika Rajan.
Enthralling interludes were provided by Vir Singh, Khushiya Jhamb, Yashaswi Das, Sanskruti Gajbhiye, Sumedha Chattree, Aditi Ghosh, Tanvi Pande, Rituaparna Samantray, Arihant Jain, Goldy R Ekka, Prateek Pathak, Rishik Rai, Sanjeet Dhar and Shobit Das guided by Rajdeep Sen, Binsi Prince, lathika Rajan, Rani Rina, D.K. Jawdekar and Vimal Kumar Jha.
