Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company limited (CSPDCl), Subodh Kumar Singh has restricted the officers from disposing the complaints of consumers who have not paid their bills.

Singh issued the directives while reviewing the steps taken for improving the consumer service operations in a meeting held at the headquarters of the company here on Thursday.Singh said that the defaulters who have not paid the electricity bills should be dealt strictly and their complaints should not be entertained by the officers. He issued directives to the officers for regularisation of illegal connections, check power theft, reduction in Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses, reduce failure of distribution transformers and interruption in power supply.

It was decided in the meeting to use overhead and underground cable in new colonies to reduce power interruption and faults in the system. For ease of access in busy roads small vehicles equipped with required facilities should be used.Field officers informed that a significant reduction in power theft has been reported after installation of high voltage distribution system, aerial bunch conductors and automatic meter reader. The advertisement boards and cables installed on electricity poles also are a major cause of power interruption, they stated.

Singh ordered to remove such illegally installed materials. Only those agencies should be permitted which regularly pay the charges for using the poles, he said. The officers also reviewed the performance of private agencies engaged by the company for RAPDRP works. Under the part-2 of the scheme, the electricity supply system of 19 cities in the State is being upgraded at a cost of Rs710 crore. The works in 13 cities have been completed. Singh directed the agencies to complete the work in remaining cities at the earliest.

He assigned a target of reduction of 15% in power losses to the field officers. Singh warned that private agencies who fail to perform will be black listed while stringent action will be taken against officers and employees who show laxity in work.
