There is no need to fear a third wave of Covid-19. People, however, must be vigilant. Only vaccination and Covid appropriate behavior can counter the threat, the government said on Sunday.
Dr Subash Mishra, Director (Epidemic), told the media that there is no need to panic over the expected third wave.
The positivity rate has drastically dropped in the state. But people have become negligent again, and this may create an environment for the virus to spread fast.
He said that all necessary medicines are being procured and stocked by the government. There has been a continuous process of recruitment by filling all vacant posts in hospitals across the state.
On vaccination, Dr Mishra said the pace is increasing. On June 26, 3.50 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated.
