A large number of Government officers led by Bilaspur Divisional Commissioner Sonmoni Borah and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pavan Deo cleaned garbage under ‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyan’ at Valmiki Nagar locality of the city on Thursday.
Talking to reporters on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Sonmoni Borah said, “We ( officials) came here to observe the ground reality of sanitation in Valmiki Nagar and also cleaned garbage at the colony. If the colony of sanitation workers is not kept clean, then the city cannot also be kept clean.”
IGP Pavan Deo said, “I myself cleaned garbage in Valmiki Nagar and felt how sanitation workers face challenges to carry out sanitation activity.”Collector Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi said that discipline could be achieved through maintaining cleanliness in life.SP Badrinarayan Meena said that the nation-wide campaign had been launched on the occasion of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and it would help to make the city as well as the entire country clean.
