District Collector P Dayanand suspended District Panchayat vice-president Ajay Jaiswal and Janpad Panchayat Pali president Ganraj Singh Kanwar on the charges of alleged eve-teasing.
According to sources, on last July 13 , Ajay Jaiswal, Ganraj Singh Kanwar, Shankar Das Mahant, Panchayat worker Rasia Singh and Dinesh Rathore had conducted an inspection at girls’ hostel Pali. On the next day, one of the girls from the hostel filed a complaint of eve-teasing against Ganraj Singh Kanwar and afterwards the matter was in the limelight.
The tribal community, while taking out a rally, submitted a memorandum to the collector, P Dayanand, demanding removal of all the accused from their constitutional responsibility.
The district administration, after investigating the matter and collecting facts, seized the vehicle of Ajay Jaiswal. The collector then issued a show cause notice to Jaiswal, to which, he submitted a reply on last Thursday, which was not satisfactory. Collector P Dayanand, under the Panchayati Raj Act Section 39, suspended Ajay Jaiswal and Ganraj Singh Kanwar from the
posts concerned.
Ajay Jaiswal alleged that he had been targeted because of political conspiracy. He also termed the collector’s order 'wrong', adding that the court has not framed any charges against him. “For justice, he would approach the court of law,” he claimed.
