The officials to be involved with ‘Biometrics Work’ for the census exercise to be taken up for National Population Register underwent training in the district to perform error free work.
The training programme was chaired by District Collector R Shangeeta, an official press release issued here stated. The Biometrics of all citizens in the district who had been staying for the last six months and expected to stay for another six months would be done by the officials. The task would involve taking thumb print, scanning of all fingers besides Iris scanning would be done along with taking of a photograph of the citizen.The work would be taken up under Indian Citizenship Act 1955 and Citizenship Rule 2003. The PSU Bharat Electronics ltd (BEl) is providing technical assistance for the Biometrics based census work.
