With intention to enhance the medical services to the people of the state, health and family welfare department, has decided to operate the pathology services at district hospitals for 24 hours and the report will be received on the same day.
As per decision taken in all district hospitals, civil hospitals, community health centres and primary health centres, the pathology, bio-chemistry and radiology department will be operational from 8.30 AM to 1.00 PM and from evening 4.00 PM to 6.00 PM. During winter seasons from November to February in second shift the timing will be from 4.00 PM to 6.00 PM.
The district hospital pathology service will be operational for 24 hours and 7 days. The services of regular pathology staff along with lab technicians under different health programmes and blood banks will be taken.
For sample collection, in all the hospitals besides the OPD room, a separate room will be established. This is to ensure regular sample collection during the OPD period and emergency OPD on basis of necessity.
