Collector and District Election Officer Thakur Ram Singh has appointed four Assistant Returning Officers for three-phase panchayat elections scheduled in January-February, 2015.
Nomination papers for the post of member of Raipur Zila Panchayat will be received at the Collectorate. The interested candidates can submit their nomination forms to the Assistant Returning Officers from 10.30am to 3pm, between December 31, 2014 and January 7, 2015. As decided, Additional Collector, Mahadev Kanvare will receive nomination forms for Raipur Zila Panchayat sector 1 to 8 in his room number 12, while Additional Collector, Bl Banjare will receive nomination forms for Raipur Zila Panchayat sector 9 to 16 in his room number 17.
The Deputy Collector, Neha Kapoor and RB Devangan, appointed as Assistant Returning Officers, will assist in the nomination forms submission work. The collector informed that nomination process for panchayat election will start with publication of notice by the returning officer, in this regard. Scrutiny of the nomination forms will start from 10am on Jan 8 and poll symbols will be distributed among the candidates, thereafter.
The candidates could apply for withdrawing their nomination at the same counter, where they would submit their forms. In Raipur, polls will be held for electing 16 members of Zila Panchayat, 100 members of Janpad Panchayat, 6093 Panchs and 408 Sarpanchs. For electing Janpad Panchayat members through polls, Tehsildar has been appointed as returning officer of the respective area.
The collector has issued appropriate instructions to the returning and assistant returning officers regarding preparation for nomination process, distribution of poll symbols, voters’ list, polling booths etc.
