Former Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) President Dhanendra Sahu while expressing apprehension on delay in distribution of drought relief compensation has demanded from the State Government to distribute it at the earliest.
The delay in distribution of the amount was because of delayed schedule of the Vikas Yatra, the leader alleged.
In a statement, he also objected on the amount released by the government for the compensation. The amount of Rs 731 crore is ‘meagre’ for the farmers spread in 96 tehsils and it was the failure of the state Government to get an adequate relief package from the Centre, he said.
Raising question on delay by the district administration he said the administration must provide relief to the farmers with immediate effect.
He further expressed his suspicion that the release of the compensation amount has been delayed because of Vikas Yatra.
It is a political gimmick and the BJP o was trying to take a political mileage on the matter, he alleged.
Farmers of State are living in pathetic condition and the BJP in their 15 year rule had failed to improve their condition, he further alleged.
Sahu also criticised the Government for not waiving off the loans of farmers. Regarding crop insurance amount he said the compensation the farmers either did not get the insurance amount and if they have got it was a very meagre amount, he said.
