Dissidents in BJP, Cong keep open option of joining regional outfits

Published on:

Ticket aspirants in both the BJP and the Congress party here are giving indications of crossing over to regional parties in case they are denied tickets for the ensuing Assembly polls in the State.

The aspirants are looking at the option of joining the regional parties such as Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) or other regional parties to contest polls if they are left out by their parties.

The ticket aspirants are looking at regional parties such as Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch or the NCP rather than Samajwadi Party and are in touch with the senior leaders of Chhattisgarh Swabhiman Manch or the NCP.

However, it was learnt that the ticket aspirants in both the parties (BJP and Congress) have still not lost hope of  being offered a ticket to contest polls. While Congress may try fielding the former or the sitting MlAs in the six Assembly seats, the BJP has not less than 12 aspirants for every seat this time round. There is a fear lingering among the old aspirants of the seats in the BJP that the party may try a new face for some seats instead of choosing them this time round.
