In normal circumstances a political party would rush to appease disgruntled workers who are denied tickets to contest polls with posts of Government Corporations .
The senior leaders of the Chhattisgarh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) this time round seems to be having a clearly defined rule on who gets the plump post in Boards/Corporations. Top party sources say that this time round, with the party, learning from the experience of damage caused by the disgruntled elements in certain constituencies on the sly would clearly go for those who worked hard to ensure the victory of the party candidates despite being denied tickets including some ‘trusted hands’ who worked silently from the State party headquarters.
Sources informed that one of the ‘key’ criteria of the selection would also be on how senior party workers fared in overall campaign management and their extensive interaction with the State and national media during the campaigning by national leaders in the State. “The senior State-level party leaders, who, while being denied tickets to contest the Assembly poll but still worked hard for victory of other candidates as per the duty assigned to them without raising objections are surely to be rewarded,” a senior party functionary stated.
He said that the party already has a list of achievers among leaders and workers and their work and they would be suitably rewarded. Interestingly, it would be no surprise to find one or two ministers who lost in the polls returning as Chairman of a Corporation.
