Chhattisgarh Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo on Friday ordered the sacking of the Director Medical Education, Dr SL. Adile, after a rape compliant was registered against him.
“The Health Department had received serious complaints against Dr Adile. The Law Department sought our consent for prosecuting Dr Adile in a case pending with the high court to which we have agreed,” Singh Deo said in a video clip released to the media. There was also a complaint of financial irregularities of Rs 5 lakh in a separate case related to the purchase of certain items for Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, the Minister said.
Investigation showed that purchases worth Rs 95 lakh done during his tenure were of suspicious nature. Dr Adile is currently on extension after his retirement, Singh Deo said.
“Considering the circumstances, I have asked ACS Renu Pillai to end Dr Adile’s extension,” Singh Deo said in the video.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police of Raipur Ajay Yadav said that police had received a written complaint against Dr Adile from a resident of Kanker district.
“Police have not been able to contact the complainant as her mobile phone number is not functioning. We are trying to contact her,” Yadav told The Pioneer over phone.
